Pilling Coffee Feast16th of June, 2020
In Pilling, on Saturday, the village celebrated the annual Coffee Feast. This year the parade, led by the Morris Dancers and Pilling Jubilee Silver Band, started from the New Memorial Field. They processed through the village to Pilling Nursing Home and then returned to St John the Baptist for the crowning of this years Coffee Feast Queen, Jessica Forrest, by Mrs Hilda Stafford. Sparklers Nursery won the best decorated float, St Johns C. of E. School won the Moon Trust trophy for the float decorated with childrens work and Hambleton won the visiting Queens float. The ceremony finished with singing by Lucy Schofield and Kaitlin Ward.
After the presentations, the procession of floats and classic cars returned to the New Memorial Field where everyone enjoyed a fantastic feast followed by games and entertainment on the field. The field, which is the site of the new Community Hall, will soon see work commence on a new Trim Trail thanks to a grant from the Leader Fund.
All in all it was a great day and many thanks go to all the organisers and helpers who contributed to the success of the day.
