Recent flooding on School Lane16th of June, 2020
School Lane suffered particularly with the water level taking two days to subside.
Despite pleas from the Parish Council; Lancashire County Council would not take the decision to close the road.
Traffic continued to use the road, some at speed, although there were flood warnings the wake washed into many residents drives, gardens and houses as a result.
School Lane was two foot deep on the corner near the School house, but that didn't stop the bus!
Damside in front of the mill also stood in deep water.
Much of the water was unable to get away as the tide was up and the Broadfleet penstocks were closed.
